Vivian J Ruddick was born in Sauk Centre, Minnesota on September 25, 1931 to William A Robbins and Lillian Underwood Robbins.
Vivian met her soon to be husband Gordon Ruddick in 1947 and they married in 1948. She enjoyed sewing and raising their 4 children, a homemaker most of her life.
The best decision Vivian made was when she found her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That decision changed their lives and the lives of their young family
In 1962 she and Gordon along with their four children, moved to Portland, Oregon where Gordon attended Multnomah Bible School.
After graduation they served together in many churches for years. Vivian was very active in women's ministries. She was also an accomplished
seamstress and in addition to the many clothes she made over the years, she also found time to bless over 300 children with new blankets at Legacy Childrens Hospital.
Vivian was 94, and passed away peacefully on Nov. 8th, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon, in 2016.
She is survived by their four children, Gordon (Patty) Ruddick, Jan (Jerry) Darnold, Kathy (Herm) Turner, and Kris (Jeff) Potter. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a sister, Debbie Kern.
A private graveside service for family took place on November 20, 2025.
Please join us for a celebration of her life at The Well Community Church (4340 N Lombard, Portland, OR, 97203) on January 17th, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
