Theresa Jean (Jeanne) Schaefer, 60, of Portland passed away on September 30, 2021.

She was born on February 2, 1961 to the late Austin and Inez Allega.

Jeanne grew up in Indiana and moved to Portland as a young adult after falling in love with the city during a visit to her sister Ellen's home there.

She worked as a legal assistant for local law firms and finally for the state of Oregon.

Her quiet sense of humor kept those around her entertained.  She was quick to jump to action to help anyone whom she perceived as needing it.  She was an avid reader and loved animals – especially cats and turtles.  She enjoyed flower gardening and being in the sun.  She will be greatly missed.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents.  She leaves behind her husband Steve; sisters Ellen Allega (Marilee Smith) and Sara Stewart; niece and nephew Lauren and Stephen Stewart.
