IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sidney Mack
Callison
May 12, 1942 – October 21, 2022
Sidney Mack Callison, 80, passed away on Friday October 21, 2022 following complications from a cardiac arrest and lung cancer.
Mack was born on May 12, 1942 in Portland Oregon where he lived all his life. His parents were James Callison and Mary Lee "Pat" Callison. He graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School. He participated in an a cappella choir group in high school, and was known throughout his years to break into song with little provocation.
Mack made his career providing precision machining services in his own job shop, Macro Manufacturing Company, which was located in North Portland. He was innovative in adopting modern machining technologies. He valued quality and integrity in both his personal and professional life. He was always eager to make new connections and find common interests. He loved learning about others, hearing their stories, and working on making their projects successful.
Mack's connections to family and friends fortified him. At family gatherings his love for his children and grandchildren was evident in his big smile and playful spirit. He regularly enjoyed playing ping-pong and spending time with friends in St Johns. His curiosity led to a lifetime of reading and learning. He traveled to Japan, Hawaii, Panama, Alaska, and across the US and Canada.
He is survived by his second wife Rebecca Callison; older brother James Callison (with wife Sandy) and younger sister Melissa Fern; three children (from prior marriage to Rhoda), son Tim Callison (with wife Irene), son Brad Callison (with wife Katie), daughter Jennifer Callison (with husband Nate Hemphill); two step-children of Rebecca, Jesse Putnam (with wife Alexis), Sara Sery (with husband Tim); three grandchildren (Clara, Jasper, and Connie), and eight step-grandchildren (Calvin, Miette, Sebastian, Maxwell, Soren, Joshua, Nicholas, and Molly).
The family is having a private memorial service. For more information regarding memorial arrangements, interested parties may call 503-616-8602. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Volunteers of America ( https://www.voa.org/donate ).
