Sharon Jean Roso died peacefully at home on November 4, 2020.  She was 79 years old.

Sharon was born on August 18, 1941 in Portland, Oregon to Marvin and Jean Riley at Emanuel Hospital. Marvin passed away and Sharon was raised by her mother Jean and step-father John Hune.  She graduated from Beaverton High School; attended Oregon College of Education, PCC, Portland State and at 60, she received her Bachelors degree in Poetry from Marylhurst University.

Sharon met Stephen G. Roso at Portland State University and they married in 1961.. Together they started the Vanguard Adjustment Company in St. Johns.

Sharon was an Activist at heart who was instrumental in the creation of Cathedral Park and the formation of the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival thereafter. She was involved with the reception, at the St. Johns Community Center, of then candidate Jimmy Carter, after which she attended the inauguration. Over the years she had been president of the PTA at George School, served as a member of the Portland Planning Commission, President of the St. Johns Boosters, and also served as President of the Oregon State Poetry Association, and was instrumental in coordinating the St Johns Christmas market and many other civic projects.   She was very active in her family's creative ventures. Such as the Boysenberry farm which she ran and provided delicious recipes for patrons; she enjoyed working alongside her family at the U-pick Oyster farm on Netarts Bay. She was an excellent leader, a poet, an art lover and a role model for women. She lived a full life. Sharon had an infectious lifelong love of sewing that will be carried on by her family.
