On Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, Sharon McKenney loving wife, and mother passed away at age 79. Sharon was born March 30, 1942 in Madill, Okla., to Homer and Nola Newton.
She married Vincent Raymond McKenney Dec. 22, 1959, and they raised four sometimes five children, JoAnne, David, Cathleen, Gary, James Beasley, and Daniel Randall.
Sharon loved her career as a Floral designer, self-taught and truly gifted, obtaining her AIFD credentials in the 1990's a coveted stature in the design community. She taught advanced floral design at Mount Hood Community College. A featured designer at various tradeshow exhibitions, including two in Beijing China demonstrating western design, invited to submit a design for consideration in the Beijing 2008 summer Olympics opening ceremonies.
She was an enthusiastic and avid reader, enjoyed meeting several local writing celebrities. Admired amongst her peers known for her kind and compassionate spirit, Sharon will be missed by all those that loved her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; son, David; and grandson, Charles. Survived by her children, JoAnne, Cathleen, son in-law, Jeff, Gary, James, and Daniel; grandsons, Daniel, and Sean; great-grandsons, Evan, Roman, Damien, Dylan, Declan, and Xander.
Service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at Hustad Funeral Home. Memorial service directly following at the St. Johns Bachelor Club.
She will be laid to rest with her husband, Vincent, on February 14, 2022 at Willamette National Cemetery.
