Beloved husband, father and sibling, Bob McMahon, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, in Portland, of cancer. Born Dec. 6, 1950, in Mason City, Iowa, Bob grew up in Chicago. He served in the F Troop 8th Air Cavalry in Vietnam. He then lived a life of adventure, traveling the country by motorcycle before studying aviation maintenance at Southern Illinois Universty, where he met the love of his life, Cathy Kurtz. They married and traveled across the U.S. and the globe, settling in Portland to raise their four children. Bob was a devoted father and grandfather, baseball coach and umpire, active member of Holy Cross Church, helicopter mechanic, FAA inspector and kind and loving husband. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; siblings, Paul and Mary; kids, Jeff, Karen, Bill and Marie; and granddaughter, Grace.
