Robert Benedict Koutek died on Sunday, September 2, 2018. He was 86 years old. Robert lived in Hillsboro at the time of his death. Previously he lived in Beaverton and Portland, Oregon. Robert was born in Portland, Oregon on March 25, 1932. He was the proud son of Immigrants from Czechoslovakia, Louis and Agnes (Vopravil) Koutek. He went to catholic school in St. Helens, Oregon and graduated from Scappoose High School. He went to college at the University of Portland and graduated with a degree in Architecture from University of Oregon.
Robert worked as an architect in downtown Portland for many years. His hobbies included pottery, glass shaping, flying (He was a licensed pilot), Kayaking and sailing. He loved cars and traveling. He visited many places including Mexico, Guatemala, Germany and France.
Robert is survived by his nephew, Neill MacNeill (Kathy), and nieces Terese MacNeill (Steve) and Denise Queen (Ron) and several cousins. His Parents, Louis and Agnes Koutek and a brother, George Koutek predeceased him.
A service was held on Friday, September 7th at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose, Oregon with Father Chuck Wood Officiating. A Graveside service with Military Honors followed at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery where Robert's Cremated Remains were laid to rest with his parents. Arrangements were entrusted to Hustad Funeral Home of Portland. Memorial donations may be given in Robert's name to a Charity of Choice.
