Obituary

Robert Lee Huebner passed away on June 13, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born on August 10, 1944 in Yakima, Washington to Rudolph and Freda Huebner. Bob is survived by his wife, Laura Huebner, his daughter Robin Holland, son-in-law Chris, his daughter-in-law Darcy, his grandchildren Brittney, Zachary, Nathan, Sydney, Brian and Eric and his great granddaughter Evey and a very much anticipated new great grandchild due 01/01/2016. He also leaves behind a brother, Bill. He joins many family members who had gone before him including his beloved son Darren, sisters Helen, Martha and Beverly, brother-in-law Ralph Palmer, sister-in-law Jeanne Taylor and his nephew Ralphie Palmer. Bob and Laura were married on August 28, 1965 and were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this coming August. Bob worked in retail sales, mainly for Montgomery Ward. His interests were fishing, which he passed on to a number of his grandsons, and watching the Trailblazers. He enjoyed preparing salmon in a variety of ways and became a master in the preparation of salsa, using ingredients he grew in his own garden. Bob loved to buy gadgets of all kinds. He bought almost every kitchen gadget known to mankind but usually ended up giving them away to his grandchildren when he found he wasn't using them. He also loved playing games on his computer. The last Christmas we all celebrated together was especially memorable. He had lost his beloved cat, Tom, several years ago and his daughter Robin and son-in-law Chris bought him a new kitty, who he named Boots. This was probably the only time his grandchildren saw him crying tears of happiness. He loved his new kitty and she slept with him, often waking him up to play. As far as he was concerned she could do no wrong. Although it is sad to have him leave us we know he had joined his son Darren who he had missed terribly and never stopped grieving for. He also joined his nephew Ralphie and since they were occasionally referred to as the 'terrible twosome' we know they will be having a great time together. The three of them may come up with new and inventive ways to entertain all who have gone on before us. Services will be held on Sunday, June 28, at Hustad Funeral Home at 1:00.
