Raymond Edward Thomas; Born August 26 1923, Died August 12 2017. Ray had long wonderful life. He was born in Duluth Minnesota, At the age of 9 he and his mom , 4 brothers and a sister moved to the northwest. They settled in the Portland Oregon area. He went to school here and graduated from Benson Tech. In 1942 he joined the U.S. Coast Guard. He served aboard the USS San Pedro until 1946. After the war he went to Bakers school and then went to work at the Bohemian Restaurant and Bakery in 1947. In 1949 he married Margret Mary Carriere . Together they had 6 boys, Terrance, Kenneth, Gregory, Stephen, Jeffery, Patrick. In 1969 he left the Bakery after it was bought out buy Kienows and started his own bakery with a partner in 1970. That lasted until early 1972. Ray then got a Service Master Franchise, took training, Then started Service Master of Vancouver. All the boys and his brother in-law Jerry Carriere helped in this business. When mom got sick and passed away he sold Service Master in 1988. In 1989 he married Anne Arena. He continued to work with Jerry on jobs until he retired. In 2003 Anne got sick and passed away. In 2004 he married Louise Wiggins. He and Louise were married until his death. Ray is survived by his wife Louise, 5 boys, 10 Grand Children, 8 Great Grand Children, And 1 Great Great Grand Child. All of our thoughts for our loving husband, father, and friend. Rest in Peace Ray.
