Raymond H. Swisher, a longtime St. Johns resident, passed away on April 14, 2013 in Portland. Ray was born in Home, Oregon on May 20, 1927 to Hayman and Hazel Swisher. Ray served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as an Engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers for many years. He was married to Margaret Malmstrom in Reno, Nevada in 1975. She preceded him in death in 2011. Ray had lived in St. Johns since the 1940s. Ray is survived by sons, Daren and Steve Moore; Brother, Charles Swisher; a niece, Sharon Swisher and nephew, Gary Swisher. A funeral gathering will be held at Hustad Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
