Obituary

Raymond (Ray) was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 30th, 1961, to Irvan and Renate Stanton. Ray's father was in the Air Force so they moved several times while Ray was younger. They moved from Omaha to Grand Forks AFB, in North Dakota, from there to Vandenburg AFB, Ca; and then Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota. They moved to Portland (St Johns) from South Dakota the summer of 1973 after Irvan retired from the Air Force.

Ray attended Sitton grade school, George middle school, (where he meet his fiancée Julie) and Benson high school. Ray was a hard worker with big dreams which led him to many jobs. He made railroad cars for Gundersons, he was a mechanic for Raz transportation, worked for Beaver Bark, and Orco, Ray also worked as a deck hand at Anchorage Launch and most recently was the maintenance technician at Country Villa.

Ray loved music of all kinds but country was his favorite. While working for Raz transportation he worked on several country stars tour buses like Toby Keith, Billy Ray Cyrus and Alan Jackson. He also had an incredible voice of his own and loved to sing to his kids when they were younger. His kids remember him singing songs like What it's like by Everclear and It's been a while by Staind. He loved the water, the outdoors, and of course, his Chiefs. He loved hunting, fishing and could pretty much fix anything just like his dad. He was a goof ball with a great sense of humor; he always wore an overly pleased smile when he was caught stealing all the peanut butter balls at Christmas.

Ray will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
