Rachel Farmer passed away on January 10, 2014 in Portland. She was born on May 22, 1921 in Scottsbluff, Neb., to John and Katherine Burbach. Rachel was married to Ralph Farmer on Dec 24, 1946 in Oregon. He passed away in 1998. She worked as a Burner at the Portland Shipyards during World War II. She later was as a Lead at Kandel Knitting Mill in Portland and finally worked at Sawyer's assembling View Masters before retiring in 1969. In 1959, Rachel moved to Tigard and remained there until moving to St. Johns in 1992 to be near her daughter. A Public Visitation will be Thurs, Jan 16 from 12:00 to 6:00 PM at Hustad Funeral Home, 7232 N. Richmond, Portland OR 97203. Private inurnment will be at Riverview Abbey in Portland. Rachel is survived by her children, Kathleen Farmer Lindow and Kenneth Ray Farmer; Grandchildren: Kenneth Ralph Farmer, Kimberly Farmer, Judi Lynch and Lavonne Perry. She has many Great and Great-Great Grandchildren.
