Norma Wittkopp passed away on November 3, 2015 in Portland. She was 92 years old. Norma was born in Ledyard, Iowa to Henry and Mae Selberg. She was raised and educated there graduating from Grant High School. She went to college in Des Moines, Iowa before joining the Navy as a WAVE, then was stationed in Florida during WWII. Norma moved to Guam as part of the military support team in 1945 where she met and married Orville Wittkopp in 1948. The couple moved back to Wahpeton,ND, then moved and made their home in Portland in 1955. After working for many years Norma retired and enjoyed tap dancing, cross county skiing, knitting, crocheting and was an active member of the American Legion Womens Axillary. Norma is survived by her three children Sandra Mortensen(Boone Mortensen) Cincinnati, OH, Rhonda Wittkopp (John Illias) Portland, OR and Dennis Wittkopp (Dori Wittkopp) Prineville, OR., three grandchildren, Joleen Smith, Alexander Mortensen and Kathryn Rollman, and her four Great-Grandchildren Lucia, Ellia and Decker Mortensen and Cora Rollman. The family would like to thank the Kaiser Hospice Team. Norma had a private internment with military honors at Willamette National Cemetery on November 12, 2015.
