Nola was born in Portland, Oregon on September 10, 1925 to Heber and Lucy Ball. She was raised and educated in North Portland having attended Portsmouth Elementary School and graduating from Roosevelt High School. She was married to Paul D. Tolman in Vancouver, Washington on August 3, 1943. Nola was primarily a homemaker but did spend time working as a sales associate at Montgomery Ward and J.C. Penny and later as an Administrative Assistant at Pacific Diesel Power in Portland. Nola was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and attended the St. Johns Ward. She is survived by her children: Jimmy Tolman of Vancouver WA, John Tolman of Biggs, CA, Paulette Hansen of St. Helens, OR, Ross Tolman of Kingwood, TX, Kerry Woller of Vancouver WA, Robin Durant of Portland, Joel Tolman of Portland and Beth Wegner of Midway, UT.; Two sisters: Madge Mayhew of Beaverton, OR and Donna Fendall of Vancouver WA. Nola has 49 Grandchildren, 104 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Paul, in 2012. A Public visitation will be at Hustad Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. A Funeral for Nola will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at The St. Johns Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5620 N Bowdoin St in Portland. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Portland.
