Mitchell was born in Salem Oregon August 20, 1956 and died in Portland, Oregon August 18, 2012. He graduated from James John Elementary School, Roosevelt High, The University of Portland, and Lewis and Clark law School. He had a degree in music and a Phd. In law. He passes the Oregon Bar exam but chose to play music instead of pursuing a law career. He was also a member of Mensa. After his birth in Salem he moved to St. Johns Oregon. He spent the remainder of his life there. Mitchell was a highly skilled organist and played for 32 years at the Lake Grove Presbyterian Church. He also enjoyed rock hounding, tennis, chess, gardening, travel, and his pets. He would often travel to Fossil Oregon to hunt for fossils. He liked to travel to the Oregon coast with his friends Marilyn and Charlie. He is survived by his brother Taylor, nieces Gena and Marie, grand nephew Wayne Taylor (Bubba), uncle Arthur, many cousins, and his very good friends Marilyn and Charlie. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM on Sunday Sept. 23 at Lake Grove Presbyterian church, with reception to follow. 4040 Sunset Drive Lake Oswego, Oregon 97035.
