Shelly McNamara Biggs was born March 30, 1949 in Bakersfield, California to Martha Jane Cox and Harold McNamara. Shelly peacefully slipped away in the early hours of Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the age of 64 at her home in Scappoose. On April 20, 1974 she was married to Terry Lee Biggs in Auburn, Washington. They met in 1968 at Jake & Larry's Shell station in Scappoose where Terry was employed. On January 21, 1975 they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Cardston Alberta Temple of the LDS Church. Shelly attended Duarte High School in California and graduated in 1966 from Scappoose High School. She attended Portland State University in 1966 and 1967. Her career tood her in many interesting directions. She assisted in supporting her family by selling Tupperware for over 15 years. As a successful entrepreneur, Shelly freely offered and shared her knowledge with others. Great friends and business associates are found are and wife. Shelly knew no stranger. Living by example, she was an influence for good to all she met. Shelly's understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and her gift of teaching enriched the lives of all who had the privilege to be in attendance As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shelly faithfully served in numerous Ward and Stake callings. Young Women Program, Stake YW Camp, Gospel Doctrine & Sunday School Teacher, Primary, Relief Society, Visiting Teacher and Seminary Instructor. Shelly's influence and love are precious memories to those she taught. Shelly loved being surrounded by her family and she was the center of their lives. When Shelly walked into the room the world brighter form her infectious energy and positive attitude. She was truly and amazing wife and mother, grandmother and friend...an example to follow. Shelly was a devoted wife to her eternal companion, Terry, and mother to her children, daughters Terra (Eric) Hayes of Scappoose, Kenda (Mark) Ellis of Warren, son Terry (TL) Biggs of St. Helens. Krista and soon-to-be son-in-aw Tony Rosales of Salt Lake City, Utah. Blessed with seven grandchildren: Erik Biggs 15, Austin 12, Grace 9 and Travis 7 Hayes, Benjamin 11 and Julia 9 Ellis and Kaden Biggs 7, who were her pride and joy. Shelly was the last surviving member of her own family. Nieces and Nephews are: Kelley & Lorin Gott, Eddie Gott and Donnie Gott, Raymond, Ross, Carolyn and Russel Brown and Janie Cathie. Together Terry and Shelly have a close, loving family and many dear supportive friends. She was preceded in death by her mom and step-dad Martha Jane and Jimmie Rodriques, father Harold McNamara, her sister Francis Brown, brothers John and James Cathey and sister Ethel Gott. She will be laid to rest in the tranquil Oregon countryside at the Apiary Cemetery in the west hills of Rainier.
