Mary Michael Kenny (Mikie) She was born February 11, 1945 in Seattle, Washington. She passed away at her home in North Portland on November 3, 2012 after a long battle with COPD and emphysema. Her Father was Lawrence Kenny and her Mother was Zella Kenny. Mikie was raised in Wasco, Oregon where her Father was a wheat farmer. Mikie also spent her high school years living in The Dalles with her Grandmother. After High School Mikie attended Linfield College in McMinnville. During her early adult years Mikie had taken up living in Portland where she spent her adult life. Mikie worked in the early seventies as a purchasing agent. Her last place of employment was Consolidated Metco, where she met her husband, Gary Orey. Gary is currently employed at Consolidated Metco where he is the principal engineer for wheel equipment for commercial vehicles. Mike spent her last several years at their home in North Portland. Mikie is survived by her brother, Pat, her husband Gary, and her two daughters Kellie Boyle of Tri Cities, Washington and Stephanie Provenzano of Vancouver, Washington, and five grandchildren. Things to remember about Mikie were he love for animals and her awesome salads. Mikie always had it in her heart to protect anything living. The family suggests donations to the Oregon Humane Society in her name. In that regards, Mikie can continue her efforts to save dogs and cats, which she loved. Last respect for Mikie will take place at Hustad Funeral Home, 7232 North Richmond Ave, Portland, OR 97203. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A celebration of life is planned in January and the family will provide details in the near future.
