Martha Jean
Drowley
November 7, 1935 – March 20, 2026
Martha Jean Drowley, lovingly known as Jean, passed away on March 20, 2026, at the age of 90.
Jean was born on November 7, 1935, in Portland, Oregon. She graduated from Woodburn High School in 1953 and went on to live a full and meaningful life centered around family, friendship, and simple joys. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Drowley.
Jean is survived by her children, Mike DeWitt and Kari Brooks; her stepchildren, Bob Drowley and Dawn Watson-Drowley; her grandchildren, Kimberly Jacoby, Karly Adams, and McKenzie DeWitt; and her great-grandchildren, Harlow, Dylan, and Owen. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, all of whom she enjoyed spending time with over the years.
In her younger years, Jean loved gardening, bowling, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. In retirement, Jean was a snowbird traveling to California and Arizona for the warm winters with George and a caravan of friends that they met at Paradise Cove. As life slowed down she became an avid card, bingo and dice player, sharing laughter and good times with her friends around the table.
Jean will be remembered for her warmth, her love of connection, and the joy she found in life’s little moments. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by those who knew her. Jean was cremated and no service is planned at this time but she will eventually be laid to rest with her husband George Drowley at Willamette National Cemetery.
