Marianne Prentice passed away on December 24, 2022 in Portland, Oregon.  She was 93 years old.

Marianne was born in Portland, Oregon, the oldest child of Francis and Frances Kreilich. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School, Immaculata Academy, and received a Nursing diploma from Providence Nursing School in 1950.

She met Robert "Bob" Prentice at a basketball game while he was a student at the University of Portland. Bob and Marianne were married August 18, 1951 after graduation. She traveled with Bob to Texas where he was stationed during his U.S. Army service. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Surgery in her early career and then in Pediatrics. In their 66-year marriage, Bob and Marianne then lived in their North Portland home for 63 years, raising eight children; Kathy Prentice, Linda (Chuck) Gross, Phyllis (Ariel) Enriquez, Patricia (Jay) Pearce, Pamela (Neil) Erickson, Fr. Ted Prentice, Alan (Ashetra) Prentice, and Glenn (Tessie) Prentice. Marianne vacationed with Bob and family to many destinations internationally and road trips to many states. They also frequently vacationed at Loomis Lake near Long Beach, WA in a house they built by the lake. She enjoyed reading and quilting with various groups in town as well as sewing projects for various parish bazaars. She won many awards at local and state fairs for her preserves and sewing and quilting entries, earning the oldest participant award for her submissions several years in a row. Marianne was preceded in death by her husband Robert, as well as her daughter Kathy.

She is survived by her brother John Kreilich, Virginia Martin, and brother Richard,seven of her eight children, 19 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Private viewing will be held on Thursday, December 29, 4–7 pm at Hustad's Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, December 30th at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church with Rosary at 10:30AM and Mass of Christian Burial at 11. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery later that day. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Providence Hospice.

A Memorial Mass will also be held January 7, 2023 at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church beginning with the Rosary at 6PM followed by Mass at 6:30PM, reception to follow.
