IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kimberly Ann
Young
December 20, 1963 – March 30, 2024
Kim passed away peacefully in her home on March 30th, 2024, after giving cancer a run for its money. She was surrounded by love from her cherished dog, Errol, and her three daughters, Nikki, Rachael, and Jamie, along with numerous friends and family members. Long-time family friend Darrell Green Jr. was also by her side, offering comfort and support in her final days.
Kim had a youthful spirit and a zest for life. Her contagious laughter and warm personality lit up every room she entered. She found joy in the simple pleasures of spending time with her dog, her daughters, and her motley crew of friends. She found immense pride in being a Grandma, never missing a chance to brag about her grandkids and eagerly sharing their photos with anyone who would indulge her. Her humor was always on point, even if it occasionally veered into the realm of the wildly inappropriate. She lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment and spreading happiness wherever she went. Kim was driven by a deep sense of service to others and was incredibly giving. She had a unique ability to brighten someone's day with a thoughtful gesture or gift, often giving simply because she thought someone would appreciate it.
Throughout her 2.5 year battle with cancer, Kim remained stubborn as a mule and determined as a toddler who refuses to eat their veggies. Gardening was her therapy, and she could often be found coaxing life out of plants in her yard or soaking up the salty breeze on the Oregon coast, with a Jameson & sprite in hand.
Hailing from the good ol' stomping grounds of St. Johns, Kim graduated from Roosevelt High School in '82, with big dreams and an even bigger attitude. She often joked that she would "grow up" after graduation, but her playful spirit and spontaneous nature never faded. Kim lived life by the seat of her pants, embracing the chaos like it was a long-lost friend and at times dodging responsibility like it was a hot-potato.
Kim leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and a whole lot of questionable decisions. She is survived by her daughters, Nikki del Giudice (39), Rachael Young (38), and Jamie McDowall (35), along with son-in-law, Stephen del Giudice (40), and Justin McDowall (40). She was an extremely proud grandmother to Stephen del Giudice II (Pickleman) (18), Jazihia Decker (16), Izzabella Fredley (13), Yarah Enyart (12), Eimo (Moe) Fredley (11), and Anabeth (AB) del Giudice (9). Kim will also be deeply missed by her loyal dog, Errol, her cherished brother and best friend, Jeff Young, her sisters, Deanna Young & Tami McDonald, as well as all of her nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Preceding her into the Great Beyond are her father, Errol D. Young, her mother, L. Jean Young, and her beloved dog Princess, her sugey-sug.
Kim may have left this world, but her spirit lives on in the memories of those who knew her - memories filled with laughter, love, and just a hint of mischief.
