Kelly Martin McGarry Sr., a long time and beloved resident of St Johns passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024.

Born on March 11, 1958, he is predeceased by his father Francis and Mother Lucille McGarry.

Kelly's early years were shared with his siblings, Jeannie, Jimmy, Laura, Ellen, Mike, Phillip, Chris, Julie and Shannon creating a tapestry of memories filled with laughter and camaraderie.

A graduate of Roosevelt High School in 1976, he carried a passion for learning throughout his life.

Kelly (and Elizabeth, his former wife and mother of his children and friend) built a life filled with love, laughter and the joyous hustle and bustle of raising their five adoring children: Joanne, Kyle, Kelly Jr., Kowan and Keigan.

Kelly found solace in the serenity of nature.

In his legacy there will be memories of camping and adventuring along the wild open road.

His love for music in the vinyl record form will be remembered by many.

He also loved golf, the OPB Channel and Nova TV programs.

Despite personal hardships later in life, anyone who know Kelly would say he was generous, Congenial, deep thinking and spiritual. His daughter recalls a memory with him literally giving the shirt of his back to a person in need.  Her eyes widened and he said, "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some have unwittingly entertained angels." Quoting Hebrew 13:2. Yes, at his core he was that kind of man.

His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who know and love him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
