Obituary
Kate died at home in her sleep on Friday night, August 18, 2018. She grew up in Portland and moved to New York City where she had a big career in post-production. She moved to Sharon Ct and had her own dress store Kate Carty Ltd, in Millerton, N.Y., which was her proudest achievement. She had great memories of her time upstate designing dresses and making people feel special with her personal attention and style.
She'd been home in Portland for the last several years helping take care of her mother, Iris, and took great joy in baking, gardening and reading. She loved the Rolling Stones, Patti Smith and hundreds of other bands
She will be missed and loved forever by her mom; her twin sister, Kelly; her sister, Maggi; brothers, Pat, Brian, Terry and Kip and all their families; and scores of friends across the country and around the world.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 25 N. Rosa Parks Way in Portland.
