On October 21, 2013, our beloved Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Niece, and Best Friend lost her long battle with myasthenia gravis. Julie had a never ending smile and love for life. Family was so important to her. She always told us she was so thankful for us, and wouldn't know what to do without us. Julie inspired so many with her strength and will power. No matter what the issue, or how sick she got, Julie never gave up she was a fighter. Julie loved spending time at the beach. She also enjoyed going for car rides up the Oregon coast, the Clackamas river, or anywhere Jenny was going. Julie also enjoyed all the times she was able to go spend with Tona, Frank and their family. Julie especially loved watching and supporting her son, nieces and nephews in their sports and other activities. She was their biggest fan and supporter. We all know she will now be cheering them all on from heaven above. She will be their angel sitting on their shoulders. Julie is survived by her only son, Brendan Slaight, of weed California, along with three sisters: Tammy Hart and her husband Terry Hart of Portland OR, Crystal Davis-Higginbotham of Moxee WA, Jennifer Schoenheit and her husband Mathew Schoenheit of Colton OR,; two brothers, Brian Higginbotham and his significant other Elizabeth Galinat of Portland OR, Jim Higginbotham of Portland OR. Julie's boyfriend Robert Gibson of Portland OR. As well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Julie is preceded in death by her Mother Shirley Jean Slaight, PaPa Leslie Lawrence Slaight, Father Charles Edwin Higginbotham, her grandparents, uncles, aunts, & cousins.
