Joye L. Troxel October 17, 1922 - September 17, 2013 Joye L. Troxel, 90, of Scappoose passed away on September 17th at Community Hospice in Longview, WA. She was born to Fred and Fern Dowell in Grand Junction, CO. Joye grew up on the Oregon Coast moving to Portland in her teen years and graduated from Jefferson High School. While working at an ice cream parlor in North Portland she met Harold Troxel. They wed on October 12, 1941, spending the next 71 years together. After living in Victorville, CA. Beaverton, Warren and Portland she most recently returned to Scappoose. Joye enjoyed sewing and loved to garden. Joye is survived by her husband of 71 years, Harold, her children Tony (Barbara) Troxel of San Diego, Gary (Velma) Troxel of Scappoose, Judi (Mark) Self of Scappoose, 6 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Troxel and brother, Fred Dowell, Jr. At her request, no services will be held. A private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
