Joseph W. Scott passed away in Portland on July 11, 2016 at age 75. He was born, raised and educated in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. He was married to Joan Tessier and had three children, but they were later divorced. Joseph served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963 as a Boiler Technician 2nd Class. He was married to June Fraser on October 31, 1964 in Fitchburg, MA and they moved to Portland later that year and have lived there since. Joseph was a Chief Engineer for the Merchant Marines for many years until his retirement in 2006. He is survived by Children: Tammy Gubitz, Wendy Scott and Timothy Tessier; Sister: Phoelica Copeland and Grandchildren Andrew, Jennifer and Titania. He was preceded in death by his wife, June, in 2011.
