Janice Ilene Gulliksen was  born April 7th 1933 in new England North Dakota was the oldest of 5 siblings.  she lived the early part of her life working hard as a waitress while helping to raise her siblings.  in 1950 she would meet and marry the love of her life Allen Gulliksen, together they celebrated more than 50 wonderful years together.  they raised 7 children over the years in Oregon.  She embraced her family time, visiting hood river, The Dalles, north Dakota and many other places to be with the ones that she loved.  camping was  a great joy for her. She always had "hot pastries" in the oven to share while her chili would simmer on the camp stove.  She enjoyed time around the camp fire or playing 31 with her friends and family while sharing laughter and making memories.  Her home was always open and friends would stop by on Friday nights where they would sit for hours sharing stories and enjoying each others company.  Saturday nights at the eagles with friends was a regular event for Janice and Allen, they would glide across the dance floor occasionally bumping into others or even a band while gazing at each other laughing, smiling and truly living in the moment.  Sunday morning coffee was enjoyed by many over the years, Hot coffee and cookies, with a newspaper you knew not to touch until she was ready. she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, her crossword puzzles, soaps and calling family and friends to simply catch up. Later in life she traveled to Hawaii, took an Alaskan cruise, numerous trips to North Dakota and a trip to Disneyland all while still having time to make sure her family was taken care of.  She most recently resided at Assumption village where she enjoyed, craft time, crocheting, outings with neighbors, bingo and of course coffee time with new and old friends.  She embraced life, family and good times.
