Jan Zimmer passed away on November 22, 2023, in Portland, Oregon. She was 89 Years old.

Jan was born on September 8, 1934, to John and Gertrude Cierzan in Winona, Minnesota.  She came to Portland when she was 8 years old and has lived in North Portland her entire life.  Jan was married to Jim Zimmer in Portland in 1953.  He preceded her in death in 2014.

Jan was the owner of Zimmer Grooming Service in North Portland for 37 years.  She was a devoted Catholic and was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Portland.  She was also a member of the University of Portland "Pilot Pals." Jan has lived as Marquis Piedmont Assisting Living since 2016.

She is survived by her son, Larry Zimmer (Judy) and her daughters: Julie Howe (Walt), Nancy Zimmer (Dory) and Kathy Detchon (Scott), Seven Grandchildren, many Great Grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and Lots of Loving Treasured Friends.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Private inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made the Our Lady of Guadalupe Statue Fund c/o Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
