James LeRoy Jones passed away on May 12, 2025 in Vancouver, Washington. He was 91 years old.
James Leroy Jones (Jimmy) was born in Wichita Kansas on February 15,
1934 to the proud parents of Thurman and Clarice Jones. He was the
oldest of two sisters and four brothers. He passed away peacefully in his
sleep on May 12, 2025, he was 91 years old. Jimmy served in the United
States Marine Corp from 1953 to 1956, he was in the Artillery Battalion. He
married Lorraine Mildred Bosch on August 30, 1958 they had three children
Lori, Pam and Gregory. He was a very devoted family man. He loved his
family deeply. He was a crafted professional and very talented at his job as
a Linoleum & Formica & Ceramic tile installer. He was driven by a passion
to help others, he was full of grace & kindness, compassionate & selfless
man. He had a playful spirit & loved to make others laugh. He was a
devoted servant of the lord, from laying floors & counter tops at
Assumption & Holycross parishes. He served at Saint Vincent's DePaul's of
Holycross for years, delivering food & essentials for people who were
homebound. He coached Baseball & was an umpire for Pier Park little
league for years & did the popcorn wagon, he also called Bingo at
Assumption Parish. He loved the lord & honored him, it showed in his fruits.
He was survived by two children Lori Lee, Gregory & Daughter in Law, Lori
Ann, four grandchildren & eight great grandchildren. We will miss him so
very much, but he will continue to live in our hearts, & without a doubt we
will all unite again in our eternal dwelling with our heavenly Father. A
special Thank-You! to Sofia & Lee at Angelmeadows Adult Family Home,
for taking such good care of our father for the last five years. Thank-You!
for attending today to celebrate Jimmy's life. He loved you all very much &
new how much you loved him. We are grateful for the example that he set
for us, how to love all like Jesus. It showed in the life he lived & we were
grateful we had him for as long as we did. God Bless You All & may God fill
you with peace & joy.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May, 28, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 S Andresen Rd, Vancouver, WA 98661.
Private inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.
