Obituary

Jacqueline Adele (Dunn) Goldrick long-time resident of Portland, Oregon, died on Tuesday,
December 24, 2024, surrounded by her husband of 55 years, her children, and grandchildren.
Born in Dillon, Montana, on September 8, 1940, to John (Jack) and Eleanor Dunn. Jackie grew
up in Bozeman, Montana (which she called God's country) and graduated from Montana State
University (Go Bobcats!) Jackie lived a beautiful full life loving oceans, lakes, rivers, streams,
mountains, all adventures, meeting people worldwide, and most of all loving and caring for her
family.

Known by many as "The Empress," Jackie's rich and diverse career touched lives all over the
world. Some of her most notable accomplishments were Peace Corps Volunteer in Thailand,
working for American Field Services (AFS) in New York City, Dormitory Director in Beirut,
Lebanon, Director of CANCO (Child Abuse and Neglect Center) in South Bend, Indiana,
President of Leadership for Cressy and Everett in South Bend, contractor for USAID in Accra,
Ghana, US Ambassador's Self Help Coordinator in Nairobi, Kenya, and Co-Founder of
Harambee Center in Portland, Oregon (a non-profit to improve the lives of women and children
in Africa.)

Jackie is survived by her husband, John; her son Sean and wife Carrie, and their children,
Carson and Ryan; her daughter Shaheen and partner Sean, and her children, Chayton, Luke
and Alex; her daughter Shannon and husband Chad, and their children, Lily, Cole and Cyrus;
her sister Mickey and husband, Ed. She was loved tremendously and her remarkable spirit will
live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to call her wife, mom, Umi (grandmother), sister,
and friend.

A service to celebrate Jackie's life will be held on January 6, 2025, at 2 pm at the Chapel of
Christ the Teacher at the University of Portland with a reception immediately following on
campus at The Pilot House.

In lieu of trees and flowers, donations in Jackie's honor can be made to the Eleanor Dunn Memorial Scholarship supporting Native Americans in the School of Nursing and school of Nursing at Montana State University. Thank you from the family. (gifts@msuaf.org)
