Harvey Howard Bean of St Helens, OR passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on September 15, 2014. Harvey was born on October 16, 1935 in Portland, OR to Arthur and Evelyn (Bowen) Bean. He was educated in the Portland Catholic parochial school system attending Queen of Peace and Central Catholic. Following high school Harvey proudly served in the US Navy serving in Japan and on the carrier Lexington. After the service he worked in several manufacturing jobs throughout the Portland area prior to becoming a Boilmaker in the late 1960's. Harvey was proudly employed as a Boilmaker until his retirement. Always a loving father and grandfather, Harvey is fondly remembered as a patient teacher of fishing, hunting and baseball. Harvey is remembered by everyone as a kind loving man who always had more for others than he provided for himself. Harvey is survived by; his wife of 52 years Patricia and their children and spouses; Sheryl DeWitt (Bill), Shon Bean (Deanna) and Shain Bean (Michelle). He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert and his younger sister Marilyn. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to hospice.
