Harold Raymond Troxel, 95, of Scappoose passed away on March 12, 2014 at Community Home Health and Hospice in Longview, Washington. He was born to Earl and Jeanette Troxel in Iola, Kansas. Harold grew up on the family farm in Iola, moving to Oregon when he was 19. Harold married Joye Dowell on Oct. 12, 1941. He was inducted into the Army on Oct. 16, 1941 and received an honorable discharge on Dec. 28, 1945 as a Technical Sergeant. Harold worked for 29 years as a Gear Locker Supervisor for the Longshoremen first at Terminal 4 and later at Terminal 6. In his spare time he loved to farm, fish and go camping. Harold is survived by his children, Tony (Barbara) of San Diego, CA; Gary (Velma) of Scappoose and Judi (Mark) Self of Scappoose; A sister, Hazel Laver of Humboldt, Kansas; Six Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren and Seven Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Joye and a daughter, Susan. At his request, no services will be held. A private inurnment will be at Willamette National Cemetery.
