Gwendolyn "Gwen" Kay Jarvis, 83 of Hillsboro, Oregon passed away on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Gwen was born on December 6, 1940 in The Dalles, Oregon to Wesley and Frances Merrifield. She attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Portland, Oregon. Gwen married Donald (Don) Jarvis on April 20th, 1963. He preceded her in death in 2017. They raised 3 children and after 22 years with the FBI, she retired as a Paralegal.
Throughout her life Gwen enjoyed coaching/watching girls' softball, HOPS games, bowling, walking, cheering on the Portland Trailblazers, Dallas Cowboys, Oregon Ducks, feeding the hummingbirds, planting flowers, taking pictures, scrapbooking, crocheting and being involved in her Hillsboro community. Her favorite times of the year were Halloween and Christmas. She and Don traveled for several years in their 5th wheel, snow birding in Arizona in the Oregon winter months and off on a plane to Las Vegas in the spring and fall. They also made a special trip to Paris and Spain. She cherished the time she spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Jarvis (Scott), daughter Janet Jarvis and son, Don Jarvis Jr. of Hillsboro, Oregon, her beloved chocolate lab, Butch and sister Gail Merrifield of Chicago, Il.
Committal service & private inurnment at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland on April 12th, 2024.
Celebration of Life will be held at Coyotes Bar & Grill, Hillsboro, OR on April 13th, 2024.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Children's Cancer Association.
