It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Glenn Phillips Shuck (Dude) of Portland, Oregon. He passed away on Tuesday, September 3, at Legacy Emanuel Hospital due to heart-related issues. He was 58 years old.

He is survived by his sisters Valerie Rowlands, Leslie (Jan) Andrade, brother Kenneth (Buzz) Gray, his beloved dog Boo, cat Grace, many nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, extended family members, and those who became family along the way. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Shuck of Portland, father, Glenn Shuck of Portland, and sister, Cathryn Leben of Oregon City.

Dude graduated in 1984 from Benson Polytech High School and went on to earn his Associate of Science General Studies degree at Portland Community College and his Bachelor of Science at Portland State University. He worked for 25 years as a Utility Locating Manager for Locating, Inc. and had just recently started a new job as a Field Safety Administrator.

Dude loved the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, painting, traveling, gardening, and cooking, but his true passion was music. Everyone who knew him knows his lifetime crush was Joan Jett. He would find his happiness through attending concerts, singing and music, later joining the group Rock Voices Portland. He was a champion in fighting for others' rights, especially when he felt like their voices weren't heard.

Dude loved everyone and was there for anyone who needed him. He was one of the most thoughtful and generous souls and will be deeply missed by many. Dude's motto over the past seven years after losing his mother was Love, Peace, and Gratitude. May you reflect on those words and think of him often.
