Georgette was born in Rayak, Lebanon the third child of Salim Saliba and Zakia Makaroun. In 1957, she met and married Abe N. Sabah in Lebanon and moved to Portland, Oregon. Her brothers, George, John, Antoine and sister, Jeannette preceded her in death. She had a contagious smile and laugh that would light up a room. Greetings from her weren't just simple hellos or hand shakes it was a kiss on the cheek and a big hug, whether she had known you for years or if she just met you - she was a woman full of love for all. She was an incredible cook; anyone that entered her house was expected to eat within minutes food was laid out before them. Georgette loved to garden; she had a natural green thumb. Spring and summer her home was full of flowers and homegrown vegetables. Georgette was a devoted wife to her husband and an incredible mother to her three daughters. She is survived by Susanna Sabah-Klee and her husband Richard; Diana Sabah and her partner Scott Fisher; Joanna McCarthy and her partner Jason Dougherty and former son-in-law, Todd McCarthy. Grandchildren, Leanna Hubbard (Hawley), Nicole Kotsovos (Casey), Kristin Klee, Joshua Klee, Amanda McCarthy, Craig McCarthy, Sydney Boling, Darian Fisher and 4 great grandchildren. Georgette will be greatly missed by her family and everyone that knew her. A Recitation of the rosary will be at 9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:00am. Private burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery along side her husband, Abe. Remembrances may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church.
