Full of joy and goodness, much like her namesake, Evangeline Joyce Justice completed her transition from this world to the next on October 13th, 2024, at the age of ninety-one.

She is survived by four children, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She lived her life as an incredible woman, spreading charitable joy wherever she went.A St. Johns native, she attended James John elementary school, then Roosevelt High School where she became the editor of the Roosevelt Ranger high school newspaper in 1950.

She graduated in 1951 and married the love of her life in 1952. She raised her five children locally and instilled her family and community values in them.

She spent many years teaching knitting and making hats for premature babies in the local hospitals. She always looked after those close to her. She passed down her knowledge of writing, knitting, baking, and homesteading to her children and their children.

Her astonishing legacy will live in through them. She now joins her husband Tim, daughter Eileen, and grandson Eli in the great beyond forever looking down on us. We aim to make her proud.
