Elsie Lorraine (Dickerson) Lundgren was born January 19, 1933, in
Bismark, North Dakota to parents Fuller and Laura (Wold) Dickerson.

Not content to carry on the family farming tradition, the young
Dickerson family moved to the Pacific Northwest where Fuller
advanced his career as a teacher.

Elsie attended several years of
primary school at Failing Elementary in SE Portland, Oregon.

Extended family responsibility called the family back to North
Dakota where Elsie attended, and graduated from, White Earth High
School. Elise married Leland David Lundgren on August 31, 1951.

Their first two, of four, children were born in North Dakota, but it
wasn't long before the young Lundgren family was back in Portland.
Elsie was a resident of St. Johns for more than 65 years.

Elsie worked most of her adult life; first as a switchboard operator in
North Dakota and then again at the Northwest Natural Gas Company
in Portland, Oregon where she worked for over 20 years. After
retiring from the gas company, she worked part time at the Metro
YMCA and then at the Terwilliger Plaza.

Elsie enjoyed sewing, reading, embroidery, advancing (in mind, body
and spirit) and spending time with family and friends. She also was a
bit of a daredevil having made 3 skydive jumps (last one at 85 years
old) and even flew a small airplane solo after successful ground
training (much to her land-loving husband's dismay).

Elsie will be lovingly remembered by her; daughter and son, Cheryl
and Randy Lundgren; grandchildren, Cherry Thomas, Casey and
Cody Taylor, Trina (Foster) Mason, and Roo Lundgren; sisters, Jeanie
(Dickerson) Kreger, Marilyn (Dickerson) Turner; brothers, Jimmy and
Tommy Dickerson as well as several great-grandchildren

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Rodney and
Robert (Bob) Lundgren; brothers, Henry and Clifford
Dickerson; sisters, Martha (Dickerson) Lambert, Betty
(Dickerson) Humble, and many extended family members and
close friends.

A memorial gathering for Elsie Lundgren will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Hustad Funeral Home chapel in Portland.
