Dale "Buddy" Everett Berry was born November 3, 1945 to parents Dale and Eileen in Walker, Minnesota. Dale was revered by both the McCormick and Berry families. He was born post-World War II in a non-traditional family. Both of his parents worked and Dale was cast into the role of big brother, where he often was a care-taker for his two younger siblings, Jack and Conne. Thus began his life long journey of helping and caring for those he loved. Dale met Karen Grannell and fell instantly in love. They married October 4, 1968. Dale and Karen were proud parents of Brian and Gale Berry. Dale was preceded in death by Karen in October of 1995. Dale would later meet and spend his remaining years with Barbara Doan. Dale was very intelligent and excelled in school. He was gifted in speech and communication and was a key member of the Roosevelt High School debate team. Soon after graduation in 1963, Dale joined the Marines, where he served in Da Nang, Vietnam as a Communication Specialist. He served four years, ending his military career as a Sergeant. His knowledge and experiences led him into his chosen vocation in sales. Dale had many passions in life: fishing, family, dancing, and music. Two of his greatest loves were fishing and spending time with family and friends. He never would say which one he loved the most! Dale's love of fishing began at a young age, while camping with his family. No one ever had to wonder where he was because he never left his fishing post. His love for fishing continued throughout his life. His desire to be with family and friends, translated to fun filled holiday celebrations. His love for all holidays and traditions created many fond memories for all who attended his gatherings. Dale was a beloved husband, partner, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be missed by all who had the honor and privilege to know him. Dale is survived by his companion Barbara Doan, son Brian (Julie), daughter Gale (Will), grandchildren (Brad, Naomi, Crystal, Anthony, and Lyric), great-grandchild Sander, brother Jack (Linda), sister Conne and many nieces and nephews.
