Surrounded by her family, Corrine Henrietta Fransen passed away in the early hours of the morning on July 25th, in Portland, Oregon. She was 86 years of age at the time of her passing. Often described as loving, caring and a happy individual, Corrine was the cornerstone of her family providing happiness and strength to all. Born in Lebanon, South Dakota on December 7th, 1928, she was the 4th of 5 children to Harry and Della Swisher. Early in her life, Corrine was very active in the church. Often participating in the choir with her sisters Ladene (Susie) and Mavis. In her teenage years, Corrine enjoyed playing jacks and jumping rope. October 15th, 1946, She was wed to Darrell Laverne Fransen in Tennessee. From there, Corrine and Darrell moved to Portland, Oregon where they began their family. Corrine was the mother the 6 children. Linda, Richard, Steve, Cheryl, Lori and Ronald. She spent her time raising her children and providing a home for her family. Corrine was blessed with 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She loved and cherished everyone of them with an open heart. Later in life, Corrine was very passionate about the Meals on Wheels charity, where She would deliver hot meals to elderly seniors. Avid lover of crossword puzzles, she would often be found throughout the day nestled in her chair trying to solve the daily crossword in the newspaper. Corrine was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Della Swisher and her brothers Dwayne and Harry. She is survived by her husband Darrell and her sisters Ladene (Susie) and Mavis.
