Clair Lee "Bud" Dahlen, age 74, died on December 5th, 2016, in Portland, Oregon. Bud is survived by his wife, Sherry Dahlen, his daughter, Tiffany Dahlen, granddaughter, Claire Wilkening, of Portland OR, his sister, Gay Midgarden of Park River ND, his niece Cindy Midgarden-Anderson and family, of Worthington, MN and his nephew Scott Midgarden and family, of Fort Collins, CO. He is preceded in death by his Father, Selvin Dahlen and Mother, Avis Dahlen of Portland, OR.

Bud was born on November 4, 1942 in Silverton, OR, to Selvin and Avis Dahlen. He attended James John Elementary School and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960. Directly after High School he enlisted in the Coast Guard. In1964, Bud returned to Portland and worked, lived and played on or near the Willamette River until his death. Bud was a dedicated family man and an adoring father. He married Sherry in 1979 and the couple had one child together, Tiffany Dahlen.

Bud was a funny, quick witted, kind, talented, and generous man. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, spending time with family, and playing cards. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving and deeply devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.

A memorial service is scheduled for May 20, 2017, at 11am, at Hustad's Funeral Home with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bud's life. In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions to be dedicated to Hopewell House, 6171 SW Capitol Hwy, Portland, OR 97239, a Legacy Hospice Home.
