Charles Achatz, 92, was born on January 23, 1925 and died peacefully on March 17, 2017. He was born in Center, Colorado. His family moved to Oregon City, and then to St. Johns where he graduated from Roosevelt HS. He was preceded in death in 2005 by his wife of 55 years, Betty Jean , and his two sisters Pauline and Frances.   He is survived by his children Craig Achatz (Barb), Carol Achatz, Linda Grogan (Sean), and Tom Achatz (Mary).   He was loved by his 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He lived in his home for 62 years, and had wonderful neighbors and caregivers who took care of him these last few years. He served in the US Navy during WW2 and worked for Charles H. Lilly Company as a millwright.   He was a hard- working man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry.   He was a gifted and skilled craftsman and will be truly missed by all.
