CARMEN ANN GARCIA Carmen A. Garcia, a resident of the Portland community, died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at her brother's home in Forest Grove, Oregon after a long battle with illness. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:00 A.M., at Hustad Funeral home, 7232 N Richmond Ave Portland, OR 97203 with Chaplain Tom Nolen officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception immediately following the service. CARMEN ANN GARCIA was born on December 16, 1959 in Downey, California, daughter of the late Margarito and Florence (Martinez) Garcia. She was raised and received her education in California having been a graduate from Ramona High School with the Class of 1977. After high school Carmen worked various jobs in California before moving to Portland, Oregon in 1997. She then began to work for Oregon Episcopal School serving food. Among her special interests Carmen enjoyed softball, her family, and caring for her boys. She is preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Florence (Martinez) Garcia and her brother, Michael Garcia. Survivors include her two sons, Stevan and Robert, her partner Steve Baggerly, of Portland, Oregon, her two brothers and their spouses, Gilbert and Heather Garcia, of Riverside, California and Robert and Miriam Garcia, of Forest Grove, Oregon. Also surviving are five nieces and nephews, Mercey, Michael, Andrew, Justin, and Jacob.
