Calvin L Oten passed away peacefully on Monday, August 14, 2023. Calvin was born August 24, 1955 in Portland, Oregon to parents George Oten Jr. and Lillie Mae Oten (Orange). Both parents preceded him in death, as well as his older brother, Ronnie Oten. Calvin is survived by his siblings, sister, Erma Oten, Magna, Utah, brothers, Dean and David Oten, Portland, Oregon. Calvin leaves behind his beloved daughter, Christina Kohler, Boise, Idaho. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Calvin was a loving father to his daughter, Christina, and enjoyed their special bonding times together.  Christina was the love of his life and Calvin's spitting image.

We are saddened by his sudden passing and grateful to have had him as part of our lives.  Calvin was a wonderful cook and loved tempting your taste buds with something different and homemade, as his family and friends will attest to with fond memories.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to family friends, Gerald Brown, David Harris and Terry Malone for their kindness and thoughtfulness.

Calvin's care for the last several years was provided by the East Portland Care Center. We wish to thank the medical staff and caregivers for their support and care of Calvin.

A celebration of life will be held for family and friends on Saturday September 30, 2023 at Hustad  Funeral Home, located at 7232 N. Richmond Avenue, Portland, Oregon between the hours of 11am to 1pm. Interment will be at Wilhelm Portland Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 6705 SE 14th Avenue, Portland, Oregon.
