Obituary

Bonnie Lehman, of Portland, Oregon, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of May 20, 2013. Bonnie was born in Lansing, Kansas to Alonzo and Mary King on August 8, 1928. Bonnie moved to St. Johns, Portland Oregon when she was young. She attended George Grade School and then continued on to Roosevelt High School. Bonnie married Don Lehman on May 3, 1945. Bonnie worked for a short time at the Man's Shop in St. Johns as a seamstress and also at Nabisco. After working, Bonnie decided to stay at home with her four children. Bonnie loved to shop, lay in the sun, visit with friends, go camping with family, cook and watch the Seattle Mariners with Don. The family has many memories of Bonnie playing the piano and singing any song with only three chords (Tiny Bubbles was her favorite!) Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Donald Lehman, Granddaughter; Chrissie Potter, parents; Alonzo and Mary King; three brothers JR, Gene and Clifford King; and five sisters; Irene, Isabelle, Imogene, Ruby and Maxine. Bonnie is survived by her daughter Becky Pappenheim of Portland, Oregon; sons Donnie, Dennis and David Lehman, all of Portland, Oregon, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bonnie will be laid to rest alongside Don at a private service held at Willamette National Cemetery on June 5th, 2013 at 2:00 pm. A celebration to honor Bonnie's life will be held June 8th, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at their home.
