Bernice Marie Houston was born in Batavia, Illinois to Harold & Amanda Marshall. She met her husband Gene Houston at her families Cafe in St. Johns. They married in 1946 & settled in North Portland where they raised their family of 3 children & numerous pets. Bernice had a deep love for her family, with the most gentle spirit & kindest heart. She was predeceased by her husband Gene (1982), son Michael (2010), her sister Betty Wilson (2011) & son-in-law Steven McRobert (2014). Bernice is survived by her 2 children Debbie McRobert and Dan (Cheri) Houston. Her 7 grandchildren Ryan (Stacee) Himes, Jason (Angie) Houston, Amanda Houston, Budd Ralston, Steve (Cindy) McRobert, Michael McRobert & Shannon Werder and Jack and Matt Melnick . Her 19 great-grandchildren & her wonderful care-givers at The Gardens. After a long slow decline from Alzheimer's, we know you are at peace Mom. A service will be held on August 19th 2016 at 2 pm at Hustad Funeral Home.
